When I got a call from Nicolle telling me about her love story to Jacob and how their wedding would feature a small country farm, barn dancing, and surprise fireworks for their guests, I was hooked.
5hrs from Sydney sits the beautiful town of Dubbo. Driving along the open highway was an experience in itself and I was blown away by the beauty of this wondrous country. Open plains, roaring hills and cloudless skies. I felt like I was in a Dorothea Mackellar poem.
Nicolle and Jacob are two kindred spirits with the largest hearts and smiles I've ever witnessed. Their joy for each other and for love itself was infectious and lit up every room they were in. It reminded me that weddings don't need fancy cars, reception rooms or long princess dresses to be beautiful - they just need love! And boy was there a lot of it at Nicolle and Jacob's wedding.
Their ceremony brought tears to my eyes, the drive to Jacob's family farm left me breathless, and watching how Nicolle looked at Jacob made my heart fill with butterflies. Their day was wholly them; from getting ready at home and reading love letters from each other, to getting married in their local church (N.B. just look at Jacob's reaction! *cue the tears*), to dancing to their favourite barn dance tunes and even slipping on their cowboy boots. It wasn't fake, it wasn't over-the-top, it was them and that was just the most beautiful thing.
